ABOUT JOAN HALPERIN

Joan Halperin started her company in 1977. Before that, she worked for the architects, I.M. Pei & Partners, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, and HO+K, P.C. Among her design projects were offices for the Royal Bank of Canada, Union Carbide Corporation, IBM Systems Laboratory, Blue Cross and Equitable Life Assurance.

Her residential work has been published in the Home section of The New York Times and in several magazines including Interior Design, House Beautiful and House and Garden. “Making Space”, “Residential Interiors”, “The Complete Home Office” and “homeStyling” are a few of the books that present her work. She has appeared on Good Morning America as an expert in home office design and on the television program Interiors by Design.

Ms. Halperin is a magna cum laude graduate of Smith College and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has a master’s certificate from the Hans Kreiks Masterclass in Interior Design and has taught interior construction at The Parsons School of Interior Design. She is listed in the 21st edition of “Who’s Who in the East” and “Who’s Who in American Women”.
